Hi, all! I have almost a full container of BB's Orange Mica that I bought a while back. It looks like BB no longer carries it, so there aren't any notes about it on the website. Does anyone know how BB's Orange Mica performs in CP soap? Does it morph or fade or anything?

Thanks for any help! :)

Why not ask BB?

I guess I will ask BB. I just thought maybe some folks here at the forum had some experience with that particular mica. :)

Jrose, I have this and have used it several times. I like the color. It is a little on the pumpkin shade, but my base oils tend to be more yellow so that may be part of this. It does not change over time. I am sorry to hear that it was discontinued, now I will have to research for another orange when this one is gone!
I just used it for my carrot soap. Will try to post a photo tomorrow or Friday.

Thank you so much, Susie, that's good to know! Sounds like the Orange mica works well in CP. I'll probably fall in love with it, too, now and then have to find something else once I run out since BB doesn't carry it anymore. It will probably take me a good long time to get through my supply, though! :D

Thanks everyone....I am very happy with this soap. It is the first carrot soap that was made with fresh carrots not the baby food.

J-rose, is this the color you were looking for? I love this shade for my carrot and pumpkin soap...still very sorry to hear it has been discontinued.

Hi, Susie! Your carrot soap looks fabulous! Yes, I was hoping for an orange color like that from the mica, which I still haven't tried yet. When I made my carrot soap (using carrot juice), I got a nice, bright orange from the carrot without adding any additional colorants:

I love how your carrot soap turned out, especially with the green on top. If that's the kind of orange that the mica delivers, then I am also sad to see it discontinued. However, I do really like BB's Tangerine Wow oxide. It's a brighter orange, but I think it would work beautifully, too. Thanks again, Susie! :)

Jenny, I have tried two of the new neon's and not had much luck....seems like I need a 'boat load' to get the color I want. I did get the sample pack and have tangerine Wow but have not tried that one. Are you mixing the neons's in glycerine like Ann Marie showed in the video?
I love your carrot soap... great color from that carrot juice!

Tangerine wow really does need a LOT of colourant to get that nice bright orange, otherwise you get a bright peachy colour. It is the palest of the neons. I mix mine with a tiny bit of orange oxide to get a nice pop of colour.

Heather, I have had the same issue with the lemonade neon. Ended up mixing some yellow mica with it.
