Teach Soap

The Juicy Lemon FO (NG) scent I put in one of my first batches has faded already - been curing 10 days (70% olive oil-30% coconut oil). This annoys me as its my favorite scent out of the 3 batches I've done so far. When it comes to citrus...I don't think I've ever used a beauty product with too much citrus scent.

Would adding more FO while rebatching help? I had used .5 oz per pound of oil - NG's recommendation - but would increase that next time around. Or would it be a lot of work (grating 3lbs by hand) for little gain? If this FO tends to fade...does that mean it will merely be a little stronger for a short while...before it fades again?

Most citrus needs to be anchored. Try using a little litsea next time you make a citrus soap, it will hold the scent in!

Sorry I can't help with the rebatching question, I haven't tried this yet.

I will use up to 1 oz. of fragrance per lb. of soap, but that's pretty rare nowadays. If a scent at 0.7 per lb. of soap fades, I will find another scent that does. Since this soap is new, shred it, only add VERY little water, then add another 0.5 FO per lb. of rebatched soap. Some fragrances will fade in CP, so are better in other products.
