Teach Soap

I usually wait until just before a market or before I post out an order before I package my soaps (into sealed cellophane bags with a small hole in them to allow them to breathe) but was wondering does anyone package all of their soaps once they are cured? I am thinking it would save me time to do them in batches but am not sure whether it would be best to leave them out of the packaging for as long as possible.

I just use little strips of printed scrapbook paper as cigar bands with the ingredients and other info printed on them so I "package" after cure in case they shrink. If you are putting them in plastic though I would think the later the better so they can breathe? I dunno, I just don't like the idea of CP soap in plastic or shrink wrap, personally, and no offense meant by that!

I cigar band my soap, but not until just before I get it ready for market - usually 5 weeks from making it. I hate when the bands get loose because the soap is still shrinking.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Just keep in mind that the soap continues to cure. I have seen soap loose water weight up to 9 months after making it. I prefer to wrap just before shipping. I don't currently do markets or fairs, so that is not a concern for me yet.

CP soaps need to breathe. I used to shrink wrap mine, but the wrap became loose after a time. I now use soap boxes.

CP doesn't get wrapped at all unless it's being posted. Then it get's wrapped as I post it out. I use cellophane squares though and wrap it like a present. That way it's not air tight.

I wrap my soap in plastic treat bags from Michaels with small holes in it and package at 8 weeks. I've tried other ways but it grosses me out any other way. But that's just me
