Teach Soap

When you make goatmilk soap using all goatmilk to replace the water can you do a liquid discount just like you do water or do you recommend the full amt of water/goatsmilk .
I made some today and so far it is looking good. I only discounted by two oz. but then I got to thinking about reading some where that with goatsmilk you needed the full volumn.
I am trying to get good at making the goatsmilk soap. I appreciate all the help I can get cause two years ago i tried to make some and it stunk so bad and looked awful and i wouldn't try it again until a few weeks ago wihen someone shared about freezing the goats milk in a plastic ziplock bag like a disc and then breaking it up and pour lye directly on frozen milk and stirring. I can't believe how great that works. No discoloration, no stinky smell no waiting on lye to cool. Soap oils at room temp. Amazing.

You can discount the milk just like for water. Just be sure you have enough to fully dissolve your lye.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but how long can you freeze fresh goat milk? If its used for soaping and not being consumed can you freeze it longer?

I can only get fresh goat's milk in the late spring from my farmer and usually buy 3 to 4 gallons to freeze for soap. I usually have a few small baggies left in the freezer the next spring and will use those first before starting on the newest. I've never had any problem with some that have been frozen up to 18 months.
