Hi crafters,

does anybody have suggestions for a FO in bier soap. I'm getting mad but I have no idea besides Sandalwood. I'm indeed out of inspiration

BrambleBerry has some beer fragrances. http://www.brambleberry.com/Search.aspx?k=beer
You could also use Amber or Vanilla or a citrus note.

Nature's Garden also sells a Beer fragrance oil that is disgustingly realistic! :|

I use Honey Ale from BB, but I've noticed a lot of people use citrus/musky EO blends. I want to try that next batch.

Brambleberry's Pumpkin Lager is very popular.

I also use a blend of vanilla & almond FO and spice EOs in my beer soap.

I'm going to use beer as most of my liquid, water for the rest. I have Pleasingly Pumpkin FO from NG that smells REALLY good (even my very picky mother liked it) so I'm going to use that for my pumpkin & beer soap, at least until I can get a BB order put together to try their Pumpkin Lager FO. I do have a full on beer soap planned with full beer as liquid and only Beer FO (from NG) :D

thank you for all your suggestions
Cedarwood and ginger sound great, will try them
I can not afford myself to order BB fragrances in Germany, the shipment is more than the goods .But anyway THX

I got Honey Ale and Oatmeal Stout FOs from BB... Neither of them smell like beer! I don't like the Honey Ale, smells kind of floral to me, but the Oatmeal Stout has a kind of spiced cookie scent to me, I like it - not as beer, but just in general it's a yummy scent.

I made beer soap about two weeks ago and loved it, my liquid was a double chocolate stout, a very strong dark beer with a chocolatey aftertaste. I mixed my vanilla& fig from WSP, which I often find overpowering + it discolours quite badly...with sandalwood. I was (and still am) over the moon with this scent. It 's warm, but not overpowering or sweet, the chocolatey scent has somehow survived the process and the colour is a lovely dark chocolate brown...with a white "head" (thank you TD :) hope this helps..

As a homebrewer of beer this is one idea that I've wanted to do for a while. I was thinking of using one of my home brewed beers as the liquid, and then using actual hop oil that's used in brewing as the fragrance. Has anyone done this, or used hops or ground malt barley as an exfoliant? I also am curious as to how a recipie calling for honey and oatmeal could substitute in malt extract and barley. Anyone had any success with using ingredients from a brew supply store?

I've used beer as 100% of the liquid. Be aware that at first it will smell really bad. I have also tried hop oil, but it's too pricey.

Hi, I love to make beer soaps and use essential oils to fragrance them. For one of them I use patchouli & sweet orange and for my other beer soap I use mai chang & lime. I find that the beer smell does go although you are left with a 'warm' musky fragrance, so I try and use oils that will enhance the natural and earthy smell of the soap. :D
