Teach Soap

I am just in the process of setting up my cold process soap business and am trying to decide on how to package my soap bars for shipping. Do you package your soaps in a box or do you wrap them in bubble wrap? I am just not sure whether they will need the extra protection of a box or if bubble wrap is enough. Would love some feedback from those that ship their soaps already.

I usually send mine in a US postal service flat rate box, with packing peanuts to fill the empty space (if any). I've received soaps that were sent in a padded mailing envelope and they were just fine.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

For just one or two bars I use the envelopes lined with bubble wrap, wrapped in either tissue paper or a glassine baggie. It would all depend on your soap, whether or not you need to protect some top decorations or something like that.

Thanks all. At this stage it will just be bars so no decorations to protect. I'm in Australia and we have flat rate satchels that will fit around 3 bars in that is cheaper to ship than the flat rate boxes. I am thinking of doing some testing by sending some bars to family on the other side of the country and get them to let me know how they travelled just to be sure

I think that is a fantastic plan... first hand knowledge is always best.
