Teach Soap

Was thinking of using some of my virgin coconut oil (food grade good stuff) in cp soap in the hopes that some of that yummy coconut scent might come through...not looking for a strong scent...just a hint of coconut. Anyone know if it will stay? What about using coconut milk/water? Any way to get a natural subtle coconut scent in cp?

It probably won't stay. I never get a coconut smell - even with the 100% coconut oil soap I made.

That is what I will be making...the 100% coconut sea salt soap...just thought i'd try it with the good smelling coconut oil and see what happens...

I've not used the virgin coconut oil, but I know I have seen others who have say they were hoping for the smell to come through, and it did not. I can tell you with certainty though that coconut milk does not give your soap a coconut smell. (Or at least the brand I use does not!)

You might could try some dried shredded coconut, anyone know if that contributes any scent or how it works in CP?

hmm dried coconut - that is a good idea...anyone ever try that??

My favorite shampoo from LUSH has creamed coconut in it. It's amazing.

yeah but it also has fragrance so there is no way to know if you are getting any "natural" coconut scent. But I do like the idea of putting mashed coconut meat in soap!

The scent from virgin coconut oil doesn't stay. Not even a tiny little bit.

yep it didn't ...not even a hint...tried it out anyway even though i knew it wouldn't...my yummy virgin coconut is now in my soap and you'd never know! hahah oh well...worth a try!
