Made my orange FO-disaster soap last night and just now realized that I probably made another mistake. I added 1 tsp. of Pumice per pound of oils when I should have used 1 Tablespoon. Haven't cut yet, but I'm thinking it would need more Pumice to make it more scrubby. I've never rebatched before....can I do that and add more pumice if it needs it? Or am I stuck with what I've already done?

You can rebatch it to add more pumice. Since you used orange for scent, you'll probably most likely lose that when rebatching though.

So, would if I rebatch, I would need to add in the same amount of Orange FO again? (I'm using the Orange Peel FO from BB).

I know from some of my scrubbies soaps that a little ruffness goes along way... so maybe the small amout of pumice would be ok. Why not try a small sample of the bar before grating the entire batch. Were you making this as a 'mechanics soap'?

If you rebatch, do not add more fo. The actual fragrance oil is still in the soap, it's just that the scent of it fades. Adding more fo would likely be irritating to the skin.

If it was me I would use as a mild exfoliater and make another batch.

Why not shred this batch and add it to another batch that has more scrubbies?

Well, I think my pumice idea is doomed :(. I made another batch of soap so that I could add in pieces from my first "failed-pumice" batch. This new batch I added 1 T. pumice per pound of oils. Wasn't real pleased with it aesthetically, but was super not-pleased when I used it, as I still can't sense any trace of pumice
Perhaps it is the type of pumice I am using? I purchased mine from BB and it is a white powder. Is that how pumice normally comes? Am I still using too little pumice PPO? I want to FEEL the pumice when I wash my hands!

If you want to feel the scrubiness try almond meal, flax seed, ground coffee or ground vanilla beans.
