I was asked the other day if it is safe to use my beeswswax products on people with bee allergies, I never thought about it before. I use it in soap rarely but use it in salve, etc., always. Do you guys think it is okay to use?

I think it is rare but people who have severe allergies to bee stings can also be allergic to beeswax. I would say as a general rule, people who have the allergy should avoid bee by-products.

I have decided that there is not a substance on this earth that someone is not allergic to! I had a patient once tell me he was allergic to our water!?? So for that reason we need to lable what is in our products and most of the time people with an allergy will read the lables. Even if you were to subsitute say calendella wax for the bee's wax, what if someone had an allergy to that?

I am allergic to bees, but the wax and honey don't bother me. Its the venom in the sting that is the big worry!

If you use it, list it in your ingredients and have the customer make their own decision. Anyone can be allergic to just about anything. I'm allergic to shea butter.

Thanks guys was really asking for kids, lately many are using my infused salve and lip balms on children and just making me a little concerned regarding allergies that they may not even know of yet. I guess it is the grandmother in me. I always tell people to do patch tests but not sure if they listen.
