HI!
I have 2 used bags of semi empty BB coconut oil, and 2 used bags that look the same -- and the labels have fallen off them. I know I had palm oil --now I cant identify which is palm or whether it is more coconut-- is there any way to tell the diff erence between palm and coconut if I know for sure one of the bags is coconut??

Coconut oil will melt at a lower temp than palm oil. It melts almost as soon as it touches you skin.

My oils aren't from BB as I live in NZ, but my coconut is stark white & my palm is definately off-white.
Also when my palm is just warmed not melted it can have a slightly gritty appearance, this goes away of course

thanks - I tryed putting a little coco oil on my hand and then some of the unknown oil, the coco oil, definately melted and slid off my hand while the other was still melting. thanks sooo much for the tip.
now I know I have two unlabeled bags of palm oil, was afraid I was going to have to throw it out

Palm is on the pale yellow side and tastes a little bitter where as coconut is bright white and tastes delicious! Please, no comments on tasting oils. Try it, you might like it. Besides, I'm still ok.

I have never used palm oil so I am no help but from what I know about coconut oil I would not want to mistake them and use too much as it dries me out like crazy.
