Hello Ladies
Question....That forms when my cp is curing...how can I get rid out it?? Because I use small molds that are already cut to size does this mean that I have to shave or wash the power form off in order to get a normal looking bar?

That white powdery stuff is known as "ash." Some people spritz the tops of their soap after pouring in the molds with alcohol. This will help somewhat, but sometimes this even fails. You could try using a soap planer to cut this off, but this could be time consuming depending upon how many bars you have. Or, you could just leave it as is and let it just be characteristic. The ask does not pose a problem to your finished product. Hope this is helpful! :D

Since these are small molds, can you cut a piece of wax paper and put it over the top after you pour?

You can also wash it off.
I use a soft brush to get down in the crannies if it's a really swoopy top :D

Perhaps this is a wives tale but I've heard that if you pour at heavy trace the likelihood of getting ash is lessened. Haven't paid enough attention to know if this is true or not! I put mica on some of my ash topped soaps to dress it up a bit!

My beeswax containing loafs got MEGA ash, 1/2 cm thick!! I've been using a bar for 2 weeks and the ash layer still hasn't washed off. I use 99% isopropyl alcohol and give the surface a good soaking. Those batches never have ash, even if they are heavily textured.

Those batches were unscented.

my soaps that have clay in them have very little ash....also the ones that I cpop are pretty ash free. The alcohol really doesn't help me much.
