Teach Soap

Would anybody mind giving me some advice on this recipe please? I've run it through thesage.com and these are the results. I'd like to use buttermilk (250 to 375ml) for the liquid and add carrot and honey. After reading the posts on here, I'll be adding the honey at light trace but I'm not sure of the amount and was thinking around 90g? Also, for the carrots, can I just finely grate them and stir in at trace or should I cook them? Final question: this is for a friend with ezema, would 7% fat be ok?

I don't like canola, I tried it once and wasn't too happy but I can't recall why. I found hydrogenated shortening similar to Old Crisco worked better. Try a batch with each? Or how about high oleic sunflower oil, that's pretty cheap and easy to find?
I've never done it myself but do you have to allow for the lactic acid content of the buttermilk neutralizing the lye

Canola is a soft oil and prone to oxidation. I would use that 49% that's llisted in the canola and add it to your olive. Either that, or find some palm, palm kernel, shea, mango or cocoa butter. If you don't mind animal fat, you could use tallow and up your castor for bubbles.

Thanks you guys, I'll try to find some palm as we don't have Crisco here in France.

On the carrots - I don't have a juicer so can't go that route, I also fancied little flecks in the soap - can I add finely grated
raw carrot at trace or must I cook it and puree?

I add raw carrot juice as part of my water. I don't cook it.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I would think carrot baby food would be nice, and I have used tumeric spice added to the soap at trace for that nice speckled look, its lightly exfoliating and was one of the favorites of my testers.
