Eeeerm, what's this on top of my soap?

Normal CP batch (OO, CO, PO, Castor, Shea, Lye, GM) with Cheesecake FO
Popped in the oven after mixing it to help force gel - oven was barely even warm though... was about 2 hours after lunch was cooked in there hehe.
I did two batches - both same oils, both same fragrance, both in the oven. But only this batch has the oil slick on top.

Give it some time. It might absorb back in. Did you reach true trace?

*blink blink* Coolah, you've done it again! You've stumped us! I've had stuff seep out and pool on the surface, but it didn't look like wax like yours. I wonder what it is....

Out of curiosity why are the edges so much darker? Mine don't look that way when they gel.

I think that that is the colour of the soap, the white is like a waxy oily layer.

I think it is all that dark colour underneath the white "oil slick".

Ok, I need to ask; what was your recipe and at what temp did you combine your oils and lye?

Did you use all goat's milk, or did you mix your lye with water then add the rest as GM? Was the GM cold, slushy or frozen?

All GM - Frozen. Poured the Lye over the frozen milk (it's frozen into ice-cubes) and stirred until it all dissolved and the temp stopped rising.

This is the other batch of soap - same recipe, same FO, everything.

There also appears to be a very thin wax/oil slick on this one too... the soft is soft and tacky although the rest of the soap is rock hard. It's only the top 1mm that seems like this... :?

I've seen that before. See if it absorbs back in. Give it a couple of days, then I would check for zap.
