Teach Soap

Hi guys - just in the beginning stages of thinking about starting to sell my soaps. Still have a ways to go but want to get the facebook page up and running so i can navigate the world of soap making on Facebook without annoying all my "friends" with constant cp soap making chatter on my newsfeed! ha! Anyway, I am also working on my etsy shop and was wondering how to get the 2 linked up?? I have noticed that some crafters' fb pages have a little etsy icon/link on the left under the profile pic. Can anyone give me a little tutorial on how to do this??

FB has a shop you can set up free called Payvment . It's then linked to your page.

Hi, JGLMom! Etsy has a Facebook app called "My Etsy." It makes a separate tab for your Etsy shop on your FB Page. Here's a link to the app on FB: https://apps.facebook.com/myetsy/. You should also be able to get to it by clicking "Facebook" under the Promote tab on the left sidebar while logged into your Etsy account.

Edit to add: The app should also get you the "My Etsy" icon underneath your profile pic, too.

JGLMom, I just saw this on the Etsy forums (I lurk around there every once in a while) and thought of you. Looks like the "My Etsy" FB app was retired recently, but Etsy has introduced a new way to connect your shop with FB.

You're welcome, JGLMom. The new FB/Etsy connection is very new, I think they just rolled it out a few days ago. I don't have an Etsy shop anymore, so I am not as up to speed on the Etsy stuff as I used to be.

There's also a third-party app called "Etsy Theme Shop," but I have no idea what that's about: http://www.etsy.com/apps/555054982/etsy-theme-shop. Supposed to be some sort of storefront tab for your FB page.

Sounds like the new FB connection will utilize the News Feed more, and it's supposed to be more mobile-friendly. I wish I knew more about it, but I don't even have a way to play around with it since I don't have a shop.
