This has never happened to me before!! The soap gremlins made a stop at my house this week...
I always do one of two things: either I prevent gel by putting the loaf immediately in the frig, or I force gel in the oven.
The vast majority of my recipes I put in the frig - just a couple that I preferred the "gelled" version.
So I was making a gardener's soap, using a tried and true base recipe that has never given me a minute's trouble.
I used Oregon Trail's Rosemary Mint FO at the full 1oz PPO, because it seems quite light OOB.
Everything went fine, into the frig as usual - pull it out to cut the next day - and there it is: a partial gel...the middle of the bars are darker. crap!!!!
I've heard that it doesn't really affect the quality of the soap one way or the other...but not sure how the customers will like "the look".
this is what I get for trying an FO that I could not find any info about (soap scent review, forums, etc...) !!!!!!!!!
