One of my soaps has aloe juice as a large % of the liquid. It can be done.

I bought a big jug of Aloe vera juice at walmart--no sugar added, just pure juice and have used it as 100% of the liquid with good sucess. I froze the desired amount and added the lye to the frozen juice--I didn't know what the lye would do and didn't want it to burn anything. No strange smells or discoloration at all. It soaped just like water. I didn't notice that it actually did anything wonderful to the soap.
