Teach Soap

My last 3 batches came out having zapping/burning tops, the rest of the soap is fine.I have made over 30 batches and never had this problem.
I gel in the oven for about an hour at 170F.I use the same oils, triple check everything....
I thought it could have been the plastic wrap ( sweating), but I poured some leftover in a silicone mold,unwrapped, the same thing..
What can make my tops zap and the rest is fine.This is so frustrating.

interesting.I desperately try to find the reason,because it doesn't make any sense.
I did have them in the oven at 170 F,they didn't look like overheated, but who knows ???

If you are using a wood mold, next time just lightly insulate, but don't put in the oven. See if that makes a difference.

I have always gelled, it would be weird not to.Only my GM I don't gel.
My acrylic mold warped, I had it in the oven for an hour at 170 F.I believe I have been cursed.Soaps, mold

I would take an actual, separate temp of the oven at 170. It's possible that your thermostat is off. Acrylic for soap molds should not warp at that temp.

I had a mold warp at 140*F, I emailed the company and they sent me 2 new ones! If your mold is from "Life of the Party" just email them and let them know what happened, that's a great company! I've heard that Milky Way Molds are also fantastic to deal with! If your mold warped at 170*F then it was likely faulty and would probably be something the company would replace.

they said,they would send me a new one.I checked the oven temp.with my laser thermometer, I don't know if that was accurate,but I will get a oven thermometer and check it out.
