I once tried adding 1 oz PPO of an alcohol-free vanilla extract. The vanilla scent disappeared as soon as I added it to the lye and oils, but the soap did smell a little less like unscented soap than it usually does (if that makes sense, lol).

The recipe I used usually produces a pale ivory colored soap but the brown from the extract did discolor it to a pale beige. Actually an orange vanilla FO I've used produced more browning than the extract did.

********
Oops, just checked my notes and it was 1 oz PPO (not tbsp).

Don't bother. It's not strong enough for soap and if there's any alcohol in it, it will make your soap seize.

I had a new soaper try it before she ask. She was to impatient wanting to try and batch before her FO came in. Fortuanately for her it took forever to trace she said and she has decided it is okay if there is no smell.
thanks for the answers, I just didn't know.
