Sooo I check on my batches daily to see how the whole curing process works, its actually pretty neat =D Yesterday both batches were fine, today Batch #1 has opaque white spots in it. They look almost like little balls of plaster! I nicked out out with a fingernail and smudged it on my thumb and forefinger, it basically painted my skin white. Its not lye (I zap tested it :mrgreen: ) could it be excess TD that for some reason in the last 24 hours decided to ball up and annoy me? I took some pics, but my poor old camera just can't handle them so well, the green circles mean nothing but to highlight some of the spots. Its the exact same pic, I just drew in some circles on one.

The white specs have no noticeable scent or taste. The smooshed one washed off easily so I don't think the batch is ruined, just spotted :cry:

It could be TD or stearic acid spots. If it painted your skin white it's TD.

I thought the recipe called for way too much, 1 tsp per lb. I was thinking it needed to be more like 1/2 tsp per 2 lb myself. Soo Batch #1 shall be named Spots! hehe

Depending on the color of your oils an butters and whether or not your fragrance discolors, you might only need to start with 1/2 tsp. per lb. of soap.

The soap should still be fine to use once its aged a few more weeks tho?
