My cp soap is still in the gel stage and it has been 38 hours or so. Will my batch ever cure or is this an indication of it needing to be tossed??

Gel phase after 38 hours? Really? You're right. That's unusual but it's not necessarily the worst thing ever.

Tell me more ... what temp did you do the oil/lye water mixture and how hot is the room it's in, and is the soap still insulating?

Next time you soap without a thermometer, just touch your hands around the pot and around the pitcher. If it's warm, but not hot, you should be good to go.
