I read about people using pureed carrots or carrot baby food in their soaps. It turns a nice orange color. I know that most fruits/veggies/botanicals that are green, blue, purple, red usually turn brown. However, has anyone color soap with other kinds of baby food with success?

The only one that retained its color was carrots. All the others turned tan to brown.

about the carrot baby puree food, we add in those small jar into our soap.
1) taking them into account as water portion
or
2) taking them as colourant portion? (powder / liquid colourant type of measuring)?

I had serious overheating in a batch I made with baby carrots. Make sure to soap cool and keep an eye on it.

I have never had luck with my carrot soap staying orange at all. It turns a light pretty yellow which I like and I use unscented. I use about 4 oz per a 8 pound batch of cp.
