I did some cp soap on Sunday and my granddaughter wanted to do a swirl which we did using a blue mica and we added a almond and honey FO. I put the soap in the fridge for a few hours and it seemed to form I think soda ash which i wiped off. But when I took it out of the mold it was softer than the batch I made before without any scents. On the bottom of the soap is was oily and on the bottom of the freezer paper there were lg brown spots but not on the soap. Could that have been the FO seeping out?

Thanks
Donna

It could be that you didn't mix the soap well, or didn't reach true trace. It's possible that the brown spots are either lye or fragrance. Did you check for zap?
