I use juice in my cp soap...I use Susan Cavvitch sp? Goatsmilk Soap Recipe. I exchange the milk for apple cider, orange, tomato, coffee or carrot juice when the lye and oils are ready for incorporation. Temps stay stable...only a few degrees difference and I've never had a problem. I know the lye kills any beneficial vitamins the juice gives it...but am only looking for color. I stay away from oxides or water soluable dyes save those for the candles...it just seems wrong to me...but I'm semi crunchy! My customers love a bar that looks hand made too...so the more uneven the better. But I'm in colonial New England...so my customers are a bit stuck in history so to speak. Our grandmothers would not have had oxides. I try to keep it simple. I have achieved swirls with apple cider and goatsmilk also...I make 2 smaller batches and just pour the two together and I've got a swirl. The apple does take longer to harden...but I just give it the 48 hours it deserves!! I'll have to post pictures soon...my stock is dwindling...got to get soaping!! Oh...when I use citrus juice...it takes a week before removing from mold and cutting. BUT it is gorgeous!!

I'm slow, sorry, but would you mix the lye and water and add the juice at trace...? And how much is ok to use? I'm very curious about the citrus juice soap!
