Hi All -

I love soap recipes with 30%-40% olive oil. For me, it makes for an ideal bar of soap. That said, I also love to incorporate lots of colors. The natural green hue olive oil gives sometimes throws my colors off.

Do any of you have suggestions for quality olive oil that has more of a neutral hue? Or suggestions for an oil that has similar qualities to olive oil, but is more clear?

Thanks so much!

-Sydney :)

I'm not sure if you are in the US or not, but if I want a really light olive oil, I get the extra light at the grocery store. It's not cheap though, so I don't use it very often.

Thank you, Irena! I will try the extra light. For some reason, I thought the "light" version might have a different composition than "regular" olive oil.

Yes, I am in the US -- Santa Barbara, CA.

The light version is more processed. The ones I have tried worked fine.

PS. I've lived in Santa Barbara for many years before I moved to the desert. :)
I miss it.
