I have come up with a basic recipe for my FO soaps and I'm now wondering if the fact that I use Palm Kernel as well as palm oil,and crisco (the palm and soybean one) is overkill as I understand that the palm oil and crisco are not unlike each other in preforming in a recipe,also how do these act as compared to coconut oil?

If I were using Crisco with palm, I would probably not add more palm. I do use plam kernel oil with Crisco. Palm kernel oil helps to make a hard bar which lathers well. I suggest that you try SoapCalc and fool around with the ingredients and percentages until you come up with a number you like. I always use coconut oil in a recipe, even with palm and palm kernel oils.

Thank you for the reply,and I think I will leave out any additional palm when using crisco.
