I made a new log mold (ok, hubby did) and I did the 8 x 2.5 x 3 x.40 formula...so I should be using 24 oz. of oils. I made a batch today using that formula and ended up with too much...had to pour the extra in a single bar silicone mold. Not sure what happened...I've never had any problems before using this formula. What do I need to do differently?

Some of your volume will come from your lye water so if you need to include that as part of your total weight. (24 oz oils - 6 oz water = 18 oz oils) I never mind having an extra bar or two because those are my "keeper" bars for personal use.

hmm..ok. I didn't do that! :mrgreen:

will include the lye water amount next time!

The extra soap only made one bar, which I put in the freezer. I haven't put soap in the freezer before so will be interesting to see how it turns out.
