Teach Soap

OOPS I ran out of almond oil but have grapeseed. The soap calc shows Linoleic 8 with almond and 13 with grapeseed.

Is this a problem? What should I look out for.

To be honest, I never look at those values, lol. I just watch the ones for Hardness, Bubbly, Creamy, etc. If all of those values still look good to you, I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, from what I've read, you shouldn't be using more than 15% grapeseed oil anyways, so I can't imagine it would have a huge impact on the resulting soap (though I could be wrong )

Put the recipe with the grapeseed oil through a lye calculator.

When in doubt, go to a lye calculator!

I use grapeseed oil in my soaps from time to time... it is available at the grocery store. Usually go with about 10%. The last time I purchased it the cost was about 38 cents per ounce - so not an inexpensive oil to use.
As for the soaps I do like it but have never used almond oil (allergies in the family) so don't know what difference it would be.
