Teach Soap

I made cinnamon soap with ground cinnamon and cinnamon leaf EO. I checked it tonight and there is what looks like small white specs (along with brown specs) on top of the soap. I used the Sage Calc and followed all of the instructions carefully. Can you tell me if I'm seeing extra lye, soda ash, or just the grainy texture the cinnamon created?

It looks like soda ash and cinnamon specks to me. Have you checked for zap?

Yes, I did do a zap test and it didn't "zap" so it passed....

Nice looking soap! I just did a cinnamon... I like your color better... speckled is good.

Bubbles2, thanks! I used olive pomace oil and ground cinnamon for the color. I have a feeling the promace OO helped with the coloring too perhaps?
