I am new here and I was just wondering... do CP soap makers look down on us HP soap makers or anything? I'm only asking because I never see much on HP, and this forum doesn't even have a board for HP :(

I make HP soap mostly because I couldn't get CP to come out right x__x

Anyways, I was just wondering! Everyone here seems pretty cool and helpful and smart, so I'm sure I'll learn a lot!

Have a lovely day~

Funny you should say that bcse I can't get my HP to turn out very good- lol!
My most recent batch would not mold up nice. It keeps coming out all full of holes and with a crumbling unattractive top. Maybe you could give me some pointers? How can I get a nice smooth pour?
Thanks :)

You can make HP posts here on the CP forum. Some of us are good at CP and not so good at HP so we may learn from you! Do't forget - if you come up with something interesting - we all like pictures!

For some reason I think most do CP, but I have read a HP question, and never thought negative about it. I read the forum to learn so do keep posting. As far as thinking badly about someone making HP - I don't see why we would think that... it's still soap, the same as M&P soapmakers are still apart of the forum. So welcome and come on in!

Welcome!! :)

I don't get that impression at all with HP- CP just seems to be really popular...and I agree with what Bubbles2 said "it's still soap"! I just started HPing last week and would appreciate any tips..particularly with my tops!

Okay, well you all seem pretty cool! I guess I asked like that because I also crochet and sometimes knitters can be very prejudice against us! Lol, oh well

Anyways, I would be glad to post pointers and things on HP... and I actually found some photos somewhere (I'll see if I can find them again) on how to get the top of your mold nice and smooth.

We have all kinds of soapmakers here, so I would say not. Welcome BTW.

I love HP! I have absolutley no patience so it works well for me. :P I actually like the textured look of the tops. I try and go for that look. I know you can smooth out the tops by putting saran wrap over the top and put gloves on because the soap is hot and smooth it with your hand until its how you like it. I have piped my tops too and it came out very nice. I think I'll try some HP cupcakes some time and see how that goes. I'm a crocheter also....tried knitting but just can't seem to get the hang of it!

Hi! I do hot press and cold press, and I don't think one is better than the other. I like them both ;)

Oh shoot...they even let me in and I can't even make a good batch of CP yet
I make a lot of lotions, body butters and body scrubs. I've tried CP once and it was a failure even after rebatching it. So I keep reading and learning here. I'll try again this coming weekend. Everyone is wonderful, supportive and very knowledgeable!

So.......WELCOME to the forums!
