Hi everyone,

Has anyone ever used aloe vera gel in cold process soap recipes? If so, can anyone suggest a usage % and whether you use it as part of your liquids or as an oil? Also, should I expect anything weird to happen when using? like will it make the soap seize or anything along those lines?

Also, I made some green tea soap yesterday and it's behaving a little strange. I'm testing out a small guest size slab mould I've not used before so I'm not sure if this is the cause -- but little white spots are appearing in the soap. It's also taking a really long time to set properly, and it's still not ready to be un-moulded. I've not had this happen before, and am unsure what I've done differently. The only thing I can think of is that I didn't use any palm oil as I normally would have... any ideas?

Thanks!

You would use aloe as part of your liquid as it's water soluble. Some people have had good luck using it as all of their liquid, but I haven't. Used as 100% of the liquid, mine turns brown and has a funky smell. However, I do use it in small amounts and subtract part of my water.
