Rubber?

My brain has evidently gone to bed without me. :lol:

I bought a couple of packages of spatulas tonight and discovered that they are rubber and not sillicone. I'm thinking I'll be okay, that lye and/or raw soap don't affect rubber. (And I don't care about discoloration.)

Am I right, or just so tired I'm stupid? :lol:

It's ok to use them. I would get silicone down the road though. Easier to use and more flexible. Be aware that rubber might pick up scents over time.

Also should keep in mind that some essential oils can react badly with rubber, like patchouli and bergamont, especially.
