Teach Soap

I made a soap and used a pvc pipe as a mold. The problem is I cannot get it out of there for the life of me - no lack of trying either. I have had it in the freezer overnight and everything, still no joy! I dont want it to get so hard I can't cut it... It was made 4 days ago now.

Has anyone got any ideas???

When I use my 3 inch PVC pipe, I freeze it and then run it under hot water to soften the sides a little. Then I use a 14-15oz. can of veggies to push it out. You can set the can on the counter and line the end of the mold on top of it and push down, or you can lay it on the side and push against it. Good luck!

after I take the pvc pipe out of the freezer, I take it out to the garage and drop it on the concrete a few times. Comes right out.

I got a roll of freezer paper from Wal Mart for about $5 just for this reason. I line my molds with the paper. This takes a bit of practice but it's worth it because I was in your shoes when I first tried the PVC mold technique. Oh, and if you do this, please secure the PVC pipe cap with duct tape!! I almost lost a batch of anise poppyseed due to my lack of preparation.

PVC gets seasoned after a few uses. I put mine in the freezer overnight. In the morning, I run hot water from the sink over the outside and the soap pretty much slides right out.

I don't whack it against the concrete...sounds like I do after what I wrote, lol. I should clarify-when I'm "dropping" it, I hold on to the pipe the whole time...give it a few firm taps against the concrete with just enough force, where I can see the soap come loose from the sides. On one batch I did whack it because I was frustrated....turns out I just needed to keep it in the freezer longer.

@soapbuddy-it's seasoned after a few uses is all? I'll try the hot water after a couple more batches.
