I am fairly new to soapmaking. I've made 3 batches and have a questions about curing olive oil soap. I've heard that 100% olive oil soap needs to cure a long time, 6 months even. How do I figure out how long to cure a high-percentage olive oil soap? Is it only 100% olive oil that needs to cure a long time? What about 60% w/ 20% palm and 20% coconut? I'm wanting to experiment with mostly olive oil soaps to find something that works for my sensitive skin and just need to know how to figure out how long to cure for different recipes. Thanks for your help!

100% olive oil soap (also called castille) seem to work the best after 8 months or more IMO.
For any other soaps, minimum is 4 to 6 weeks. If I have the time and space, 6 to 8 weeks is what I try to do.

I let my high olive oil soaps cure for 8-10 weeks before using them. I like the way they feel when they have a longer cure. As for 100% olive oil - definitely wait 6-8 months.
