to add GSE to my pumpkin spice soap. I added the vit E but forgot the GSE and I have organic pumpkin in there. This soap has kept for up to two years in the past (I save some each year for myself) and now I am not sure. Do any of you use GSE or do you think it really makes no difference? Thanks!

LOL I just did a search on the forum and see I did not use it last year either, Soapbuddy said there was no need. :oops:

GSE will get eaten up by lye. The lye will also take care of any fruit purees or juices. The high pH of final soap keep germs and bacteria at bay. You do not need a preservative of any kind in CP soap. Technically, GSE is an anti-oxidant and not a preservative.
