Does anyone make vacuum form molds? I make my own custom molds out of
silicone, but that's only because I make them for other things (not soap related)
But silicone molds can get expensive.. and the vacuum form molds seem to
work OK for several pours. Just wondering if there's someone people have
used to do things like this?

ah.. sorry. Vacuum forming is where they melt a sheet of plastic and then
put it over the items you want to make molds from. It is how they make
the clear plastic molds you see in the stores. I know you can do it at
home, but I didn't want to make a vacuum table and heater setup.

Interesting video. I had a "vacume form" toy as a child. Never did the cool items he did in that video. My thought was that the plastic would not hold up very long to the soaping process. Wonder if the lye or even the fragrance would eat through the plastic very quickly. Think I would stick to the silicone molds and learn how to do that. But if you try it let us know.
