Could you be talking about an "ash" like film on top of the bars? I'm not sure what you mean by cloudy.
Soda Ash can form on some soap - it can be shaved off or some people brush it off after the bars are a little harder.

Ok...so I have sort of figured it out for myself. Now that I have unmolded them and cut them I think they are fine.

They are both a CP recipes....I think it is just the individual color differences. One of them does have vanilla in it so is probably just the brown color of vanilla.

I was just comparing these 2 batches to other batches I made...and they seemed to come out to be an off white (oatmeal color....which is sort of what I meant by cloudy)

Anyway...they are fine...and they smell great :lol:
