Hi all. I have a question and I know I need to get the books and stuff but here it is. If I am coming up with my own recipe, I add up my percentages of oils to 100%. Right? Then I need to calculate the percentages of oils versus lye and water right? Is there a formula for that or did I already ask that? I have been looking at recipes and they seem to already account for that. So when I run it through a lye calculator, it comes up with the same amount listed in the recipe. But what if I want a bigger batch then what they are saying? How do I do that? I don't know if any of this makes sense. It makes sense in my head. LOL! Thanks if any of you can understand it enough to answer.

You can resize your recipe to just about any amount you like. Go to The Sage http://www.thesage.com/calcs/lyecalc2.php put in your original recipe, click calculate, then on the bottom there is an option to recalculate to a bigger or a smaller size. It will recalculate your water and lye as well.
