Teach Soap

What type of mold does everyone prefer for production? Log type, the type with dividers, small plastic molds? Which is better for swirls, and which is better for solid colors? Which do you find easier to unmold?

I love my silicone molds - both log and 12 individual bars. I also like my homemade wood slab molds that I line with freezer paper. The both unmold very easily. I think the slab molds are better for swirls with several different colors, column swirls etc, but you can do lots in the log molds as well - like the mantra swirl. I think it is more a matter of personal preference than anything else.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I use HDPE or lucite molds. I also have a couple of silicone molds.

I use all kinds of molds, but only wooden molds. You know, being green and all of that. All of my log styles are DIY, and I just DIYed a multislicer for my molds. Score! I also have Baltic Birch bar mold from Brambleberry. It is a bit small, so I will probably just build a new mold.
