Hello guys, i saw and i learned that kojic acid is Kojic acid is a product primarily used to whiten a person’s skin. Do you have any idea about this guys? or have you already use this in your soap? if ever you are now using this, can u share guys if what would be percentage of kojic per pound of oil ....

Kojic Acid is a skin-lightening agent that is derived from mushrooms and other fungi. It is commonly used in Asian countries for this purpose. I know that is can be found in creams but I am not sure about soap, I don't know if it would make it through saponification so maybe someone else can help you out with that detail.

In a book I have there is a note that it has been found to be a skin sensitizer and irritant just FYI.

As a Licensed Esthetician I can tell you that Kojic acid can be very damaging to the skin unless used by a professional. It is being phased out and replaced with other effective ingredients. If you need more info, google lotioncrafter.com for lightening ingredients. As far as soap, it is a wash off product and this ingredient would not stay on the skin long enough to make a difference. I would recommend seeing a dermatologist for any lightening prescriptions.
