Teach Soap

Ok, I know many of you have said so in the past that leaving soap in loaves/logs does not allow it to cure completely, but others say different and sell that way. I have big orders for logs/loaves but I am so unhappy with how long my soap takes to cure once cut off a log/loave. It takes some soaps 2 wks more to harden after being cut off a 8 wk old log/loave. I tried less water, harder oils, etc., etc., people still want them, but does not make me happy. Again, people say Lush now sells "real" handmade soap this way. What am I doing wrong, my log/loaves are 4 pounds each. I know we have had much feed back on this both ways, just had to vent

If your soap is softer after being cut from a eight week log, think of the positive. The soap won't last as long and your customers will need to come back sooner and buy more.
I have never seen "real" soap at L*sh. I have never seen a complete ingredient list from them either. They misrepresent a lot of their products.

Just musing here, but wonder if putting a dehumidifier in the room where the soap logs are being cured would help draw out the moisture more quickly?

You can always move to Colorado. I have an average of 13% humidity. But on to upside EVERYONE wants moisturizing products here LOL.

Its always a tradeoff.

I don't think a dehumidifier could "melt" soap since all it does is draw moisture out of the air, not heat it. But, I could be wrong. It's happened before! LOL

A dehydrator will melt your soap as it would be put inside. A dehumidifier takes moisture from the room.

http://www.daystarsupplies.com/ has a lot of Lush Dupes and the one for Rock Star is called Liquid Crack. I know all this because my daughters also requested I make a Rock Star type smelling soap for them. Hope it helps.

Thanks everyone, I live in Florida so I guess that is why it takes longer to cure esp in the summer months. No one but me seems to mind the softer soap and yes Soapbuddy they do come back sooner lol. I tell them to wait, but they cannot wait to use the bars My pc was down and I really missed this forum!
