I finally got to try out my lard soap I made about 6 weeks ago today. I <3 it! Great bubbles, very moisturizing, and a nice hard bar. I love it when things work out. Don't you?

Thanks gals. The circle was from a castile batch awhile ago. Unscented but colored with french green clay.

That looks great soapyjoes!

I love my lard soaps! I also like the soap I made using Walmart GV Shortening (Beef tallow & palm oil) It feels exactly like the lard soap and is less expensive to make, too.

I made some 100% lard soap superfatted at 10% that I tried yesterday and was very happy with it. there's not much lather, but it is creamy feeling. I'm going to use it for several days to see if it makes my skin feel dry or not.

OK ladies, you are driving me crazy! I so want to try a tallow soap, but have not had the time and the road construction to walmart is terrible. I am so trying to stay away from that side of town, but will need to make a run just because I have to have this! Maybe I will try for two batches of soap this week. At least I have a batch that will finish its cure this Saturday...

I found the best place for lard other than wal-mart and that is a mexican market. We have a mexican market in town and they sell pure lard for cooking plus other great stuff like spices and such. Anyone else have any great local supplier finds other than wal-mart.
