I bought some bottles of coconut water for the family to try. No one likes it, lol...so I was thinking about using it in soap  rather dumping what's left down the sink. Should I use it just like I would with coconut or goat milk? (I usually do 50/50 method)

What is coconut water? Is it coconut juice fresh out of the whole nut?

took a pic so you could see what it looks like. The ingredients only say "coconut water"..nothing else. On the back, it says no added preservatives and no added sugar (however, the label does say it has 11g of sugar). That's what I'm curious about...if it has sugar in it, should I go about it as if I'm making a milk soap (as opposed to using it like distilled water)?

Ok, I just google it, coconut water is just coconut juice from the young nut.

I love drinking that stuff when I travel to the South Asia. You go pick your own coconut and they chop it open and give you a straw.
So yeah, what it means is natural coconut water does taste sweet because it has sugar, kind of like fruit juice. So even if it has no added sugar it still contains sugar, just no added extra sugar to sweeten it.
I would just use it as water. I assume it's going to act similar to wine soap or beer soap except no alcohol so you don't have to cook it off first. And I've seen a lot of soap on the market made with coconut water. Maybe the sugar will add more lathering?
Now, I don't understand why would people spend that kind of money to buy coconut water and use it to CP. That got to be expensive piece of soap!

I would use this as part of your liquid and keep it cool, so it doesn't overheat since it has quite bit of natural sugar.

ok, I think I will keep it on the cool side then because of the sugar. I will update when I use it in a batch.

cat040876- I've never come across coconut water before but it looked interesting...and they had a nice display in the store so I just had to try some! I would have to agree that those soapers are using it for more lather..and maybe label appeal?

thanks!

I love coconut water - I drink it after a long run or other workout. It has a lot of potassium in it and low calories. Never thought of making soap with it but I am curious to know how it goes!

very nice looking! What scent did you use? Such nice soft color. Is it from clay?

Thanks! I knew I was forgetting something, sorry about that! The scent is BB's Cherry Blossom and the colorant is ultramarine pink oxide from BB too (as well as the cranberry seeds).
