Teach Soap

OK. I am getting set up to try this. I got Swirling with the Best from Saponifier Magazine. Now about colors.

I only have are lab colors in pastel/spa colors. I have never paid any attention to non-bleeding colors. All the instructions I look at pour different colors on each side of the divider then a color kind of drizzled on top of one of the sides. Do all the colors need to be the non-bleeding (I assume pigments) or just the one you drizzle on top.

Lab Colors should work fine without bleeding in CP soap unless you use way too much.

I did my first attempt at mantra swirls last night. I made a two pound loaf with one half uncolored and the other half colored with BB Sage Mist. The swirl part was put on top of the green and it was BB Wineberry. I haven't cut it yet and I vow not to get in a big hurry. I have a new cutter coming in the mail and I am going to wait for it to arrive.

The results: My colors arene't bright or vivid enough. I had never used the green before so you can hardly tell the differenct between it and the uncolored. The swirl is ok. But I am not concerned about the color at this point. It was all about technique and that was a great success!!!!!

I am out of coconut and palm oils so I will get off an order plus some pigments for some bright colors.

Onward and upward!!!!
