Teach Soap

I made my first soap, and I read, you can take the soap out between 24 or 48 hours, something like that....when do you know for sure??
Are there any signs, when the soap is done???

What type of mold did you use? Have a photo you might share?

Was it MandP or CP?

If CP what were the predominate oils? Was it insulated, or Hot processed?

All of these factors have effects.

Hot processed for me is 12 hours later, Salt bars 4 hours, if I refrigerate a CP batch I don't unmold it for 3 to 4 days if I've used milk in it, as it is softer than the HP batch.

ok so much to learn...you never read the specifics...it was olive and coconut oil,little castor oil...
Cold process,wrapped in a towel....

If it gelled, you should be able to get it out when it's cool. With that said, it also depends on your actual recipe.

my soap was cold, I took it out... some of the soaps had some darker areas in the middle...I put them on a cardboard to cure now and hope for the best.Is it ok, if the soap had some moisture on them??? Is it water or lye???
I feel like when I had my first newborn, and had no clue what is right or wrong,normal or not??????

And what is mandP ????Never heard of it

thanks...I will do the zap test in 2 days...I was wondering about, if you have a lye heavy soap, if you could use it to make milled soap, so you don't have any waste...great.
