I am not sure I am using the word "embed" correctly. I mean chunks or shapes of soap of one color embedded in soap of another color. I have done this with melt and pour soap base and with rebatching my CP soap. I am wondering if I can make an embed with CP (w/o rebatching). Here is what I have in mind:
Shave some dark brown (too much cocoa powder, lol), two-week old soap into curls. Arrange the curls to fill a loaf mold. Make a plain CP soap recipe, get it to trace, then pour over the cured soap shavings.
Will the heat from the saponification do anything unexpected to the embedded soap curls? Will the curls become one with the soap? Do I insulate the over-pour and let it gel? Will my overzealous use of cocoa powder in the curls bleed into the off-white overpour?
Thanks for any advice!
