I'm a new soapmaker (1 yr) :P and I'm curious as to when or why to discount your water? Does it make a difference in the feel of the soap? or does it just dry the bar out faster? I've soaped at 38% and dropped down to 36% once.

Some people discount their water so the soap hardens up faster. It still needs to cure for 4 to 6 weeks.
