Do any of you soap using room temp lye and oils?

I haven't tried it yet and am wondering what are the pros and cons of this technique. TIA

No, I don't use room temp. I have read that it is easier to get a false trace using room temp. lye water and, oils & fats.

Only when I'm working with milk instead of water for my lye solution.

I don't. Too much of a chance of something going wrong, like false trace.

I've used it many times without incident. A pro is that you can set up hours and hours before hand and when you get to soaping there is no temps to worry about. When I make a whipped soap I have to use room temperature, as far as I understand. I have heard of false trace when using the room temp method but have yet to experience it. Try a shot at it with a small batch.

Also, from what I understand there are two types of room temperature mixing. One involves having your hard oils ready then pouring your lye solution HOT just after you get all the lye dissolved in your water. This will melt your hard oils. After melted you add your liquid oils. I've never done this method, only the method having lye and oils at a room temp.

I've only done the oils at room temperature and pouring the hot steaming lye. I stir by hand at first. I use the stick blender afterwards; check my temps and add my fragrance. So far so good but I don't always use this method.

I use beeswax with every batch, so this process would not work for me.
