If you read my previous posting about The Scent Works you would know that I had a terrible experience placing order with this vendor. Just when I thought maybe it's a one time bad luck, then it happens again today. This time it's Wholesale Supplies Plus.

Maybe the economy is really improving and people are placing orders like crazy, or companies have been laying off employees that they are just short staffed?! But seriously, what happened to good business ethic these days?! I admit, after The Scent Works incident my patience has gone flying away, and I'm just tired of getting all these excuses left and right.

This time WSP also got FO back ordered and was not able to ship my order. They emailed me and asked me if I want to cancel that FO. Again, according to their website order lead time my order should've been out of their warehouse with a tacking number by now. And now they are just asking me about the back ordered FO?! So I wrote back to complain because I need this FO next week and I want them to promise me that the FO will get here next week. Then they wrote me back and said there are many orders ahead of mine, blah blah blah... Can't promise me shipping time because the whole entire country has been experiencing bad weather recently blah blah blah...

Ok, really, quit giving me excuses, I'm tired of listening to excuses, what happened to good old business ethic?!

cat - I'm sorry you've been having bad experiences, but it is a fact that the weather does have a lot of the shipping messed up. When Fed Ex can't fly into or out of an airport, the shipments get behind. Same goes for US Mail and UPS. (I know because my DH is in this business.)

I think WSP was showing a good customer service ethic by giving you the facts instead of telling you what you wanted to hear, which wouldn't have been the truth. And then you would have been really PO'd if they promised to have it to you by next week and it didn't show. I understand your frustration, especially since you just had problems with the other vendor, but there is only so much a vendor can do to work around whatever mother nature throws at us. They can't ship out what they can't get in.

What angers me, is the fact that they accept your order, now your money is tied up, then you get the response that its back ordered, so you are stuck. This happened to me twice at Christmas with gifts for my grandbabies, then last month some jeans for my husband. I don't have money enough for it to be tied up someplace, and then run to another place to get it while I'm waiting. If you go into a retail store and something is out of stock, they will tell you that a truck is coming in on such and such a day, but that they dont know for sure if it will be on it. I have to believe that when your placing an order via the internet, its thru your pc and theirs, they have an inventory in their computers that should pop up immediately if an item is out of stock. As for bad weather, my husband drives truck, has been out for 4 weeks, all over the place from NY to California, as far south as Texas, not a single delivery was late, and he drives legal. I agree its very bad business to make promises, that may not be kept. I believe they make those promises to entice us to place an order.
