Teach Soap

Made 3 small batches with all new recipes!
1) Salt bar with 90% coconut oil and 10% castor at 15% superfat and added salt at 80% of my oils. Thanks for the heads up about working fast after adding the salt!!

2) 100% coconut oil at 20% superfat...I just saw that recipe last night...didn't even know you could do that, LOL!

3) Lard soap - this one took longer than normal (for me) to trace. Is this just a fluke or is this normal for lard soaps vs PO soaps? Just curious, it wasn't a big deal.

I'm also curious about the INS and iodine values of the two high percentage CO soaps. I wasn't surprised to see that these were out of range (per soapcalc), but I just wanted to check with y'all that this is OK.

I use lard at about 30% along with OO, CO and sometimes Canola Oil and haven't noticed it taking longer to trace than all oils. Maybe it depends on the amount of lard?

I have many batches I used 30 - 40% lard. Most of the time I can reach a light trace in 4-5 min. What did you consider long? My vegie soap traces in 3-4minutes.
