The mold I always use is 3 pounds. I have 1 pound of shavings and chips that I want to add to a batch. If I make 2 pounds of my regular recipe and add the 1 pound of chips will I now fill up my 3 pound mold?

You are adding mass to the mold but not much volume so you should be fine. It will add about 1/3 to 1/2 of an inch to the top of your soap, which is an estimate based on a 3 pound loaf mold and adding 1 pound of "pieces". If you think that might exceed the top of your mold, run the same recipe through soapcalc and reduce the amount of your recipe by 15% and you should be fine.

Fellow Soapers: You didn't think you could get away from me just because I went to Chicago for the weekend did you? It's the benefit of staying with friends who have wireless. Oh yeah......the line on the game as of this morning was the Pickers by 3.5. Enjoy the games and your weekend soapmaking.

I just did this very thing this am, wow it was fun. The shreds were from part of a batch that I hadn't fragranced, so shred it up and added to 2 pounds of new soap!

Go Raiders and find a home for Al please, by all accounts he is a little rough around the edges! My team is actually the 49's but I gave up watching all the sports I loved about 10 years ago 1. I can't bear it when they crash into each other and for some reason flinch when this happens. 2. Young people look up to sports hero as roll models. When they started wearing jewels, being slapped on the wrist for major crimes, beating their so's or pets well that is another reason I just stopped. Believe me they don't miss me! LOL

I was a Golden State Warriors fan from way back and especially loved the games I was able to attend in person. The 49ers and the Raiders too made winter seem winter for me. The crowds are much different now and so I leave it to the much younger generation! Same with Rock Concerts, still enjoy small venue jazz, rock, blues, and even classical musical presentations.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
